« Coming from the French Caribbean island of Martinique, I always view the sea like a symbol of permanent movement, a place of constant liquid metamorphosis which is reflected in my multi-media work, where various mediums are mixed together.

As the sea also carries with it memories of ancient history, so my art evokes our post-colonial society and the issues it's facing today. 

One of these huge issues in Caribbean region is the invasion of the algae called sargassum.  This proliferation is dangerous because of climate change and other causes that interact together.

 So, my work develops various questions around this ‘warning from the sea’ and other ways of thinking our relationship with ocean. »
